Gerard - saw you posting on CQN, welcome.
Never been to Barra myself, but was in the Merchant Navy for a while many moons ago, so had the pleasure of sailing with a few Barra men. Cannot remember any names exactly, but the McNeills seem to stick in my brain for some reason.
Closest I have ever been to Barra is when I go over to Skye on my walking jaunts.
Anyhoo, better go now.

I wouldn't make a claim to know too many of the guys working at sea - their no here half the time! Besides there are loads of folk who work at sea in one capacity or another.
I have been off the blog for a long time on account of some problem and hae only just got back on line - and posting to the CQN site.
Anyway at some point I will stick some pictures of the island on the site. Its a pretty stunning place. Keep your eye open for those pics, cheers
